Summer holidays

The school holidays have begun! For the children, it means a break from the routine of the school week, perhaps being stuffed in as an afterthought alongside mountains of luggage for a foray into Britain's wonderful countryside.

However, a word of caution!

The stress of cramming luggage and family into a confined space combined with the long hours spent sitting with your hips positioned at a 90 degree angle whilst queueing on roads no longer fit for purpose, may have repercussions.

Ideally, you should take a break every two hours to stretch your legs. This may prove unpopular with the determined driver who wants to get to a destination in one hit. however, failure to do so will mean that you emerge from the car at a very odd angle and take a few minutes to straighten up. This is not good preparation for striding along a coastal path the following day.

Leave sooner, drive slower, live longer combined with regular breaks along the way is an excellent travel strategy. Alternatively, have your osteopath on speed dial!
