Julia Brooks has just returned from Cordoba where she attended the book launch of a hugely heavy, long but very interesting book on Equine sports medicine.
The book could be used as a highly effective door-stop but is also actually quite a good read. This is the product of a 3 year collaboration with over 80 international specialists, the Osteopathic approach to this field being Julia’s contribution. The format composed of bullet points, ‘highlights’ and practical pointers has compelled authors (even Julia!) to distil their thoughts and experience into compact form. The breadth of the content is enormous - from anatomy to biomechanics, tack to farriery, nutrition to training regimes, musculoskeletal treatments to the latest trend in biomedicine to name but a few of the topics covered. Door-stop or knowledge, it is the go-to book in this field.
